First introduced to the world in 1997, the Forester became available in the U.S. two years later, replacing another Subaru model. Regarded by drivers and trades as one of the best of the best, the Forester was named Motor Trend's 2014 SUV of the Year and Car Connections Best Car to Buy in 2014.
Performance
The standard power plant
is Subaru's 250-horsepower, direct injection, Turbocharged Boxer engine, which
provides plenty of power and performance for the all-wheel drive
vehicle. Via steering wheel controls, drivers can access Subaru's Intelligent
Drive, which offers different driving modes to tailor the car's driving
experience. Â Manual transmissions are standard, with a CVT (continuously
variable transmission) as an available option, and EPA-estimated mileage of 32 miles
per gallon highway, outstanding for the class.
Exterior
The car received a complete makeover in 2014, so the 2015 Subaru Forester doesn't have many appearance changes, save the addition of a back-up camera as standard equipment. Available in six different trims, the Forester has body color front and rear bumpers, daytime running lights, halogen headlights, tinted windows, and a rear fixed window with defroster above a power liftgate. Test drive the 2015 Subaru Forester today at Freehold Subaru.
2015 Subaru Forester Review - Interior
In the cabin you'll find
the four-door SUV can comfortably seat five, with rear seats that fold
down if you need to tote gear instead of people. Â Power accessories are
standard, as are climate control, anti-theft, and an audio system that
includes AM/FM/CD/MP3 capabilities. Two 12-volt outlets are up front, plus one
in the cargo area, to keep your personal devices or tools charged up.Â
As you climb the trim ladder, more and enhanced features are included as standard equipment. Other trims offer options like a larger engine and weather packages including heated seats, trailer hitch, remote engine starter, and rooftop cargo basket.
Safety
Every Forester is equipped with an Advanced Protection System, which includes a full array of seven airbags and advanced sensors to ensure the airbags are deployed precisely as needed, if they are needed. Â A high-tensile strength steel frame helps to minimize impact damage in the event of a collision. Stability control and smart braking systems help make the Forester's drive smooth while protecting its passengers.
