  • Replace engine oil and oil filter.
  • Rotate tires and reset tire pressure.

  • Test charging system.
  • Check belts and hoses.
  • Make sure the Forester's lights are working properly.

Perform these services again at 22,500 miles; 37,500 miles; 52,000 miles; 67,500 miles; 82,500 miles; 97,500 miles; and 112,500 miles.

Every 15,000 Miles

  • Recommended: An emissions tune-up every 15,000 miles.
  • Replace the Forester's oil and oil filter.
  • Set tire pressure and rotate tires.
  • Make sure that brake pads and discs are working properly.
  • Check the condition of the Forester's axle shaft and the front and rear axle boots.
  • Make sure that the parking and service brake system are working properly.
  • Check the Forester's clutch operation.
  • Perform an inspection of the suspension and steering.
  • Replace the cabin air filter if applicable.
  • Top off fluid levels or change them if needed.
  • Complete multipoint inspection.

Perform these tasks at 15,000 miles; 45,000 miles; and 75,000 miles.

Every 30,000 Miles

  • Replace the engine oil and filter on the Subaru Forester.
  • Rotate the tires and set tire pressure.
  • Inspect the Forester's brake discs, linings, pads, rotors, and drums.
  • Replace brake fluid.
  • Check the brake lines and parking brake operation and service the braking system.
  • Check the axle shaft condition and the front and rear axle boots.
  • Inspect the operation of the Forester's clutch.
  • Inspect the steering and suspension.
  • Replace the spark plugs on non-turbo models.
  • Replace the air filter.
  • Replace the Forester's PVC valve.
  • Check the fuel system and connections.
  • Top off the automatic transmission fluid.
  • Top off the front and rear differential oil and gear oil.
  • Inspect the drive belt if applicable.
  • Replace the engine coolant, inspect the cooling system, and check the hoses and connections.

Perform these services at 30,000 and 90,000 miles.

Every 60,000 Miles

  • Replace the Subaru Forester's oil and oil filter.
  • Rotate the tires and check tire pressure.
  • Check the disc pads, disc/linings, rotors, and drums.
  • Replace the brake fluid.
  • Check the brake lines, operation of parking brake, and operation of the service brake system.
  • Check the rear and front axle boots in addition to the axle shaft connection.
  • Check the Forester's clutch operation.
  • Replace the air filter and PVC valve.
  • Replace the spark plugs if applicable.
  • Replace the fuel filter if applicable.
  • Check the fuel system lines and connections.
  • Service the Forester's automatic transmission.
  • Change the front and rear differential oil.
  • Change gear oil.
  • Inspect drive belt if applicable.    
  • Inspect cam shaft belt if applicable.
  • Inspect the front and rear wheel bearings.
  • Replace the engine coolant and cooling system in addition to the hoses and connection.

Complete this at the 60,000 and 120,000 miles.

At 105,000 Miles

  • Replace the engine oil and oil filter on the Subaru Forester.
  • Rotate tires and set the tire pressures.
  • Inspect disc pads, disc/linings, rotors, and drums.
  • Check the rear axle boots, front axle boots, and axle shaft conditions.
  • Inspect the suspension and steering.
  • Replace the drive belt and cam shaft if applicable.
