This system achieves 180 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque, and benefits from the lower RPM and greater responsiveness that were introduced with last year's redesign.

Ground clearance for most trims is 8.7 inches, but the 2026 Subaru Forester Wilderness gets an increase to 9.3 inches. This new Subaru SUV also features several available all-terrain-focused enhancements, including an enhanced X-MODE® Dual Mode System with Snow/Dirt and Deep Snow/Mud driving modes for added capability.

Towing and Cargo

Towing capacity for most 2026 Subaru Forester trims is a robust 1,500 lbs, while the enhanced capability of the 2026 Subaru Forester Wilderness raises max towing capacity to 3,500lbs.
