2026 Subaru Ascent vs. the Competition

The 2026 Subaru Ascent holds its own against the powertrains available in other SUVs. Its standard 2.4-liter SUBARU BOXER® generates 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque, which is plenty of power for urban environments and highways. That outdoes the torque you'll find in the Honda Pilot, whose V6 engine delivers just 262 lb-ft.

In addition, this new Subaru SUV has ample passenger space. The cabin features 41.2 inches of headroom in the front and 40 inches in the rear, as well as 42.2 inches of legroom for the driver and front passenger. Compare that to the Honda Pilot, which only features 40.5 inches of headroom and 41 inches of legroom in the front.

The 2026 Subaru Ascent also beats the Hyundai Palisade in terms of torque, as the latter only gets 260 lb-ft of torque from its standard 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine.
