2018 Subaru WRX: Performance, Power, & Handling

The 2018 Subaru WRX is equipped with the 2.0L Direct Injection Turbocharged BOXER® engine. The twin scroll turbocharger features an intercooler, allowing you to push the vehicle to its limits at 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque while its engine remains at an optimal temperature. The Direct Injection allows the Subaru WRX to get the most out of its fuel without any unnecessary waste.

The turbocharged BOXER® engine features horizontally opposed valves with its flat-laying position under the hood. This engine reduces drag while boosting performance and diverting energy to the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. This engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, which can be upgraded to the Lineartronic® CVT (continuously variable transmission) to boost efficiency as well as transitions in speed.

The newly updated Subaru WRX also features a revised power steering system that offers smoother maneuvering with sharp turns and even evasive maneuvers. The newly designed front and rear suspension provides a more responsive handling and agility when navigating tight corners. The Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system simply adds to these new additions in keeping you in absolute control when out on the roads.

Updated Design & Appearance

The front end of the Subaru WRX has received a few updates for the 2018 outing to add a more aggressive and commanding appearance. The grille was designed to add to the vehicle's sporty aesthetic, even featuring a larger lower grille opening. The exterior also includes new 19-inch wheels, which simply add to this vehicle's dynamic and alluring appeal.

As for the interior, several changes were made to help the driver enjoy their trips. This vehicle features the available Recaro® power seats to optimize style as well as comfort. The cabin features new materials for style and function purposes. The newer cabin also features thicker glass to help reduce loud and unwanted noise that interferes with the experience. The interior also includes a standard STARLINK 6.2-inch high resolution touchscreen, which can easily be upgraded to the seven-inch screen, providing more media features than the standard edition.
