Standard maintenance is essential to keeping any vehicle running smooth and strong for many years. It's more than that, however-most cars come with a factory warranty to cover any defects or breakdowns, which can be voided if you don't follow a maintenance schedule. The Subaru Crosstrek is no different. Read the standard 2016 Subaru Crosstrek maintenance schedule, for drivers in the Freehold, Manalapan, Marlboro and Englishtown areas.
2016 Subaru Crosstrek Maintenance Intervals
In general, your 2016 Subaru Crosstrek maintenance should take place every 7500 miles. Each trip requires a steadily increasing level of services. Keeping your Subaru Crosstrek maintenance up to date is essential for many reasons. Not only will it ensure that your vehicle will run like new for many years to come, but your Subaru warranty also depends upon staying on top of this maintenance schedule.
First Trip
At 7,500 miles, you should take your Subaru in to have basic maintenance services completed. At this level you'll do the things most people expect to do from their vehicle. This means changing the oil, having the engine oil filter replaced as well as the oil drain pan gasket. You'll also have your tires rotated to ensure even wear and have your alignment checked over as part of the process. This general and basic maintenance will have to be done on a regular basis throughout the life of your vehicle.
Second Routine Maintenance
When your car reaches 15,000 miles you will need to have the second level of maintenance performed. At this level in addition to the 7,500-mile maintenance including oil, filter and gasket changes and tire rotation, you'll need to look at some of the other systems of your vehicle as well. This includes having inspections done on your brakes (including brake lines and parking brake), cv/axle boots, your transmission and drivetrain including steering, suspension and clutch, and fluid levels.
Subsequent Maintenance Visits
After this point, maintenance visits should take place every 7,500 miles for oil change and filter check and every 15,000 for the second level of maintenance. When your car reaches 30,000 miles, for example, you will need to have your regular oil and filter changes done, plus your air filter, brake fluid, HVAC system, another check on your brakes and CV boots. In addition, you'll want to check your axle shaft joints and drivetrain.
Continuing Service
Moving forward, every 15,000 miles you will need to have the larger list of services completed the same as at 15,000 and 30,000 miles. This essentially creates a two-step schedule of maintenance for your 2016 Subaru Crosstrek.
The good thing about this is that it makes it fairly easy to remember which level of service you need at any given time. However, your local Subaru dealer and service center can often help to work out if you're off schedule or due with any specific issues your car needs to have covered.
If you live in the Freehold, Manalapan, Marlboro and Englishtown region, Freehold Subaru can help you with any kind of issues you need with your 2016 Subaru Crosstrek maintenance. Give us a call or contact us online to schedule an appointment today!
