Subaru WRX Maintenance

For you to better understand this maintenance schedule, we've broken down these intervals by mileage. Going by miles instead of months is much easier and efficient because not every driver is the same. Make sure you keep an eye on your odometer so that you'll know the best time to schedule maintenance. Now that you're prepared, here's your Subaru WRX maintenance schedule.

  • 6,000 Miles- At this service interval, and every time you add 6,000 miles to your car, you'll need to have your oil and oil filter changed out. You'll also need to have your tires inspected and rotated at this service interval.
  • 12,000 Miles- On top of the previously mentioned services, you'll have a few things to add to the list. You'll need to have your brake pads, linings, CV joints, axle boots and clutch operation inspected. At this point, you'll also need to have your cabin air filter replaced. Make sure to have this service repeated at 24,000, 36,000 and 48,000 miles.
  • 30,000 Miles- When you reach this mileage, you'll need have your brake fluid and engine air filter replaced, and your drive belt inspected. If your Subaru WRX features a manual transmission, you'll need to have your clutch fluid replaced. If your vehicle features a CVT transmission, you'll want to have the transmission oil inspected. Your cooling and fuel system should also be inspected at this service interval. Remember to have these services performed again at 60,000 and 90,000 miles.
  • 60,000 Miles- At this juncture, you'll need to have your spark plugs and automatic transmission fluid replaced. You'll also need to have your differential fluid (front and rear gear oil) inspected during this service interval. Remember to repeat these services at 120,000 miles.
  • 72,000 Miles- This is the service interval where you need to have your fuel filter replaced. Be sure to repeat this service at 144,000 miles.
  • 137,500 Miles- On top of several of the previously mentioned service replacements and inspections, you'll need to have your Subaru Super Coolant replaced. After it's been replaced, you'll need to replace it in another 75,000 miles. Be sure to only use Subaru coolant, and it's strongly recommended that you don't mix it with other coolants-or else it will reduce protection. Be sure to add Subaru cooling system conditioner when you replace your coolant.
