Haunted Attractions in Monmouth County

For those of you who enjoy a good scare, Monmouth County's Halloween attractions are some of the best in New Jersey. Spooky hayrides, terrifying haunted houses, and corn mazes attract thrill seekers searching for exhilarating family fun in Freehold, Farmingdale, or Manalapan each year. We've listed some of the most chilling and thrilling events we're looking forward to most.

Field of Terror

We recommend visiting K&S Farm's Field of Terror-but only if you dare! Legend has it that Farmer Frank, who worked in the fields 100 years ago, crossbred local townspeople with his crops to create a better form of human life. The results were dreadfully catastrophic, and now the farm is overrun by his failed experiments.

Field of Terror’s four hair-raising events - Killer Kornfield, Zombie Attack Haunted Hayride, Dementia 3D Haunted House, and an Unknown Barn-aren’t for the faint of heart, especially with Farmer Frank's wicked grandson Ax Man roaming around. If these adrenaline-pumping adventures are too much for your family, the farm offers several other activities before these frightful creatures appear at nightfall.

Dubbed Sunshine Acres during the day, Field of Terror's patrons can go pumpkin picking, for a hayride, or through a corn maze without the horrifying, ghastly ghosts and goblins run around. But beware - once darkness falls, this East Windsor farm transforms into a ghoulish playground for the undead.

Field of Terror is also hosting a Zombie Mud Run on Halloween. This 5K obstacle course divides participants into humans and zombies and is designed to push them physically and test their endurance. If you think you can defeat the zombies, sign up!

Dark Carnival

Since opening in 2010, The Dark Carnival's haunted circus  has grown into one of the state's most popular Halloween attractions. Its four exhibits- Dark Carnival, Meat Grinder, Night Terrors, and Sanitarium - blur the distinction between reality and your worst nightmares.

We urge you come experience the spectacle yourself. Each frightful display of freaks is sure to terrify even the most daring of the Dark Carnival's patrons. After walking through this diabolical freak show, you'll never be the same.

The Dark Carnival is open Friday through Sunday from 7 to 11 pm from October 3 through 31. Rates and ticketing information are available on its website.

Oasis Island of Terror

The Oasis Island of Terror is one of New Jersey's premier walk-through haunted attractions because of its realistic decorations and setting. You'll never know what's lurking around the corner-it could be a zombie, a ghost, or a creature from the deep. We advise that you expect the unexpected during your adventure because this isn't your typical haunted house.

The Oasis Island of Terror also offers pumpkin picking, crafting events, and corn mazes during the day, which are ideal for field trips and family excursions. More information regarding tours, pricing, and hours are available on the Oasis Island of Terror website.
