With its sprawling pumpkin patches, festive hayrides, and intricate corn mazes, Monmouth County abounds with dozens of fun activities and attractions each fall. Families throughout Freehold, Farmingdale, and Manalapan can enjoy Central New Jersey’s diverse autumn festivities as the temperature cools. Bust out your favorite sweater, grab a cup of hot apple cider, and visit some of these farms during your free time this autumn.
At Bullock Farms, visitors can go on a 25-minute hayride through its rolling hills, verdant fields, and expansive farmland to a pumpkin patch for just $4. Along the way, you’ll run into a couple friendly scarecrows, ghosts, and witches to get into the Halloween spirit.
Once you get to the patch, you can spend the day picking your own pumpkins, gourds, and ornamental squash with your family and friends. Pick-your-own pumpkins cost 55 cents per pound and are available each weekend through Halloween.
Bullock Farms also offers a challenging four-and-a-half acre corn maze on weekends in addition to a pumpkin market and a Kids Korner. The Kids Korner includes a sandbox, a straw bale maze, and a petting zoo.
Happy Day Farms offers a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, pig races, petting zoos, and hayrides. Located in Manalapan, Happy Day Farms is a great place to spend the day with your children.
It’s easy to get lost in this year’s corn maze at Happy Day Farms, which celebrates the 150th anniversary of the Civil War’s conclusion. It’s one of New Jersey’s largest corn mazes, and we recommend trying it out if you’re feeling adventurous. Prices of admission vary.
Celebrate Halloween at Westhaven Farm Inc! For the past 50 years, Westhaven Farm has been one of the most popular fall attractions in the area. Families come each year for hayrides, corn mazes, and petting zoos ideal for families with children.
Friday and Saturday, Westhaven Farms opens a flashlight corn maze between 7 and 8:30 pm with cold apple cider and fresh doughnuts afterwards.
Slope Brook Farm sells beautiful fall décor, gourds and pumpkins, and more! Located in Colts Neck, Slope Brook Farm Inc. is a great place to find new autumn-themed decorations for your home or business. Their wreaths and table displays are beautiful, especially if you’re entertaining or hosting a party this fall.
Slope Brook Farm is donating a portion of their pumpkin sales this year to breast cancer research. For each pumpkin sold, Slope Brook Farm will donate 25 cents to breast cancer research.
