Subaru has some impressive goals in mind by the time 2020 rolls around, and at Freehold Subaru we look forward to helping them meet their vision. One thing they want to do is increase sales in North America from 478,000 vehicles sold to 600,000.

To give these sales an additional boost Subaru is staying on the cutting edge of technology by bringing consumers a new platform. Aptly called the Subaru Global Platform, the new platform will debut in 2016. In addition, Subaru will be chasing increased fuel efficiency by coupling the platform with a direct injection engine. Don't worry, the beloved Boxer engine will still be around!

It is also heavily rumored at the new platform will be used for the Tribeca's redesign that we can except to see anywhere between 2016 to 2020. This is all exciting news but it doesn't stop at a new engine, platform, and refreshed SUV.

Though everyone is still hush-hush and tight lipped, there is even a possibility that Subaru will bring a plug-in model (or two) to the lineup! Subaru drivers love being in the great outdoors, so we believe a plug-in option would be very in line with the company's objectives. Which new Subaru would you like to see get a cord?

For more information on these upcoming changes you'll want to follow our blog. In the meantime, stop into our Freehold, NJ dealership for a test drive!
